We need your help!

On May 9, 1957, a concert, played in part by Johnny Cash, happened in Lacombe, Alberta.

On May 9, 2026, Steve Olson will bring his show ‘Johnny Cash & the Rockabillies’ to LPAC, highlighting the 1957 tour through Alberta by iconic artists Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Wanda Jackson.

One lone newspaper ad, published on May 2, 1957 in the Lacombe Globe, has been found, highlighting this historic concert that happened in Lacombe. LPAC is looking for ANY stories, photographs, tales or tokens from that night. Were you there? Maybe you heard parents or grandparents talk of such a concert? We want to hear any or all of it!

Why? To coincide with the concert, we’d love to devote our gallery wall in the Lacombe Ford Lobby at LPAC to an art exhibit celebrating the 1957 concert and rockabilly music as a whole.

We are also looking for original LITERARY & VISUAL works inspired by the Rockabilly music genre to be included in an exhibit on the gallery wall of the Lacombe Ford Lobby at LPAC. Please email exhibits@lacombePAC.com if you have a tale to tell or for more information!

This exhibition will be on display at on the gallery wall of the Lacombe Ford Lobby at LPAC MAY 6 - JUN 11, 2026.
